Some thugs in the Kano state chapter of the
PDP today held Vice President Namadi Sambo
hostage for about 20 minutes at the Bayero
University Kano premises over allegations that
the state party leader had abandoned them.
According to Daily Independent , an eyewitness
said dozens of heavily armed thugs posing as
loyal party men beat the security cover around
the VP and became unruly, pouring out their
grievances at the state party leaders.
The witness said the thugs in unison chorused
on top of there voices “Bamuayi Bamuayi
Bamuayi” which meant “we are no longer with
you”, while others shouted mungaji da aiki
banza”, meaning ‘we are tired of the job’.
An embarrassed Vice President immediately
ordered the state party leaders to address the
aggrieved members. This paved way for the
thugs to drop their arms and follow the convoy
of the Vice President.

Police in Ekiti state parade woman for roasting hubby’s manhood

The Ekiti State Police Command today Monday
March 7th paraded a woman, Bukola Ogidiolu, for
allegedly pouring petrol on her husband, and
setting him ablaze. The fire destroyed his private
parts.
According to The Nation, while being paraded to
reporters, the 36 year old woman claimed that
she had a disagreement with her husband over
his alleged nonchalant attitude to her failure to
conceive since their marriage over three years
ago. She denied setting her husband on fire for
refusing to take her out on the Valentine’s Day
which happened to be her birthday.
Bukola said she didn’t know how the attack
happened.
The incident happened at the couple’s
residence in Idolofin area of Odo-Ado, Ado-
Ekiti.
Bukola said: “We had disagreement over his
nonchalant attitude to my barrenness that
day and we were fighting. Our neighbours
tried to plead with him but he never
listened to them. He later ran inside and
destroyed all my property. But he had
forgotten that we have petrol inside and
when he was about lighting his cigarette,
the keg that contains the petrol exploded
and my husband caught fire immediately”.
Abimbola who has burns all over his body
with his manhood badly burnt is presently
receiving treatment at Ekiti State University
Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti
where doctors are battling to save his life.
Police spokesman said the woman would be
charged to court as soon as possible.

APC to drag First Lady to International Criminal Court

APC says it has concluded plans to drag the first
Lady Patience Jonathan before the International
Criminal Court over her recent remarks at the
PDP Presidential campaign rally in Calabar,
Cross Rivers state where she called on people to
stone anyone who chanted Change around them.
The APC said Mrs Jonathan's comment was
calling on PDP supporters in the state to attack
members of the APC. The party likened Mrs
Jonathan to the former First Lady of Cote
d’Ivoire, Mrs Laurent Gbagbo who was indicted
by the ICC over matters bothering on election
crisis in 2010 during her husband's re-election
"Change, as the entire country knows by
now, is the slogan of the APC – the rallying
cry of a political party that wishes to bring
hope of greater and better things to come
for Nigeria and Nigerians. “By her
statement, Mrs. Jonathan was clearly
calling on the PDP supporters in Calabar to
attack supporters and campaigners of the
APC in the state. Mrs. Jonathan does not
occupy any formal office in the Nigerian
government as the position of the First
Lady is not recognised by the Nigerian
constitution. But Mrs. Gbagbo’s case
shows the ICC’s awareness of how
someone beyond formal governmental and
military hierarchies can be identified as
responsible for serious international crimes.
Patience Jonathan’s incontrovertible hate
speech not only contravened the laws of
the land, but also went completely against
the Abuja peace accord jointly signed by
the two presidential candidates,
Muhammadu Buhari and President
Goodluck Jonathan – a gesture which is
aimed at forestalling violence before, during
and after the 2015 elections. The PDP
supporters in the state, who may not know
better, could easily yield themselves to the
First Lady’s admonition and embark on a
process of wanton stoning and other
attacks against the APC members.”the
party said
The party says the letter to the ICC is signed by
the APC Presidential Campaign Director and
Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Ameachi and
would be forwarded to the ICC today March 9th.
It also said that the Inspector General of the
Police and the National Human Rights
Commission would also be sent copies of the
letter.
