FM On-Air-Personality and TV host Shine Begho,
who got engaged on December 29th, has gotten
married to her man. They had a court wedding
today. Big congrats to them..

Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Wilfred Agbonavbare down with cancer

Former Nigerian International goalkeeper, Wilfred
Agbonavbare has been diagnosed with cancer.
The ex-Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper is currently at
a Spanish hospital where he is undergoing
treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer.
Agbonavbare was a member of Nigeria’s U-21
Mexico 1983 Flying Eagles, 1984 AFCON silver
medalist and 1994 AFCON gold medalist. He lost
his wife three years ago to breast cancer.

Church writer. Don't know why they have to
release a report on T.B Joshua rejecting a $1k
offering but obviously they think it's important

To buttress his unconventional sermon last
Sunday where T.B. Joshua berated pastors
who ‘forced’ their members to pay tithes
and offerings, a video has surfaced of the
Nigerian cleric refusing a whopping $1,000

The clip, which was posted last week on
Emmanuel TV’s channel on video-sharing site
YouTube, shows Joshua ministering to the sick
during his recent visit to the South American
nation of Colombia.
An elderly Paraguayan lady who had travelled to
the meeting from Switzerland is shown receiving
prayer for a 60 year back problem. After she had
received prayer, the son of the overwhelmed lady
brought out an envelope from her bag. “In here
is an offering that she has been saving for a year
- $1,000 for your ministry” he tearfully told the
Nigerian pastor. “Help me give it to the needy,”
T.B. Joshua instantly responded. “These are the
things that hinder miracles,” he then explained to
the crowd. “It would look like the miracle is
exchanged for money.”

Katsina College releases Buhari's WASC results. See document

Premium Times has exclusively obtained the
secondary school certificate examination results
of Gen. Buhari from the Government College,
formerly Provincial Secondary School, Katsina,
where he graduated from in 1961. The results,
according to PT, confirms Buhari’s claim that he
undertook the University of Cambridge West
African School Certificate Examinations and
obtained five credits in English Language,
Geography, Hausa Language, History, and Health
Science.
Premium Times obtained the computer printout
from Cambridge University as well as a
statement of result, signed by the current
principal of Katsina College, dated January 21,

Dangerous Love! Civil Servant Commits Suicide Over HeartBreak In Imo State

One Mr. Chibuzor Awobi, a civil servant
based in Nekede- Imo State has allegedly
committed suicide by drinking poisonous
substances, because he couldn’t marry his
long-time girlfriend.
It was gathered that Awobi, 36, was until
his death, a staff of the State ministry of
Internal Resources and Pensions.
He was said to have died because the
parents and brothers of his fiancée, one
Chioma Agukpaha from Ihitte Emeabiam
community of the state refused him from
marrying her.
Awobi was said to have invested a huge
amount of money and energy into the
relationship with the girl.
Information also revealed that the deceased
trained the girl in the university and helped
her secure a job at Diamond Bank in Owerri.
However, trouble started when Awobi went
to Chioma’s family to tell them that he was
coming to marry their daughter. The family
initially refused him from coming to marry
her, but upon his insistence they allowed
him and his people to perform the
traditional marriage rites. The traditional
wedding was fixed to hold on December 28,
2014 while the church wedding was fixed
for January 3, 2015 at the Emmanuel
Anglican Church Nekede. But three days to
the event, precisely on December 24,
Chioma was kidnapped and later released
on December 29, a development that led to
the cancellation of the wedding.
He was said to have arrested the
mastermind of his fiancée’s kidnap who is
also her relative, but two days later, his
prospective in-laws told him that they had
changed their mind and would now support
him to marry their daughter only on the
condition that he must release the kidnap
suspect from the police custody, a request
he gladly accepted by ensuring the bail of
the suspect from the police.
However, the situation changed again after
the release of the suspect, when Chioma’s
brothers told him that they were not ready
to be his in-law and that he should forget
about the marriage. Following this
development, Awobi was said to have
become emotionally depressed. He was said
to have called Chioma on Friday night to
forget about the marriage as her people had
said and wished they had married.
He was said to have begun the plot to
commit suicide within the compound by
drinking a substance.
However, a family source disclosed that he
never committed suicide but had slumped
as a result of heart break. He was rushed to
the hospital and was confirmed dead.

Soldiers rescue 14 pregnant teenagers, 8 children in Abia

Soldiers from 144 Battalion, Asa, in
Ukwa West Local Government Area of
Abia State have rescued 14 pregnant
teenagers and eight children from a
motherless babies’ home at Umunkpeyi
Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South Local
Government Area.
Also arrested by the soldiers were six
young men, who claimed to be staff of
the home, and two girls, aged 16 and
25.However, the proprietress of the
home, Mrs. Nma Charity, is still at large.
It was gathered that Mrs. Charity
claimed to be running a government-
approved home, but engages in child
trafficking and hiring of men who
impregnates the teenage girls.
Sources told Vanguard that on delivery,
each girl got N20,000, while their babies
were sold for between N80,000 and
N150,000 for females and males,
respectively.
One of the suspects, who was caught at
Eke-Akpara in Osisioma Ngwa Local
Government Area, while trying to steal
a baby, confessed that he had been in
the business with Mrs. Charity for a
long period, stating that his role was to
steal a child and deliver it to the her,
who in turn sold it to her customers.
Acting on the confession of the suspect,
the Commanding Officer 144 Battalion,
Lt. Col. Omolori Rasheed, ordered his
men to raid the home where about 14
pregnant teenagers and six young men
were arrested, while the proprietress of
the home was away at the time of the
raid.

12 more Nigerians on death row in Indonesia

Two days after two Nigerian convicted drug
traffickers were executed, it's revealed that 12
more are currently on death row in Indonesia for
drug trafficking offenses.
Revealing this to news men in Abuja yesterday
January 19th, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry
of Foreign affairs, Amb. Danjuma Sheni, said the
Federal government has appealed to the
government of Indonesia to show clemency to
the 12 Nigerians who are on death roll so they
will not be executed like the two Nigerians Daniel
Emenuo and Okafor Solomon, who were executed
last Sunday January 18th in the country for drug
trafficking.
The Permanent secretary spoke to newsmen
after a meeting with the Indonesian Ambassador
to Nigeria, Eko Indiarto, yesterday in Abuja to
protest the execution of the Nigerians even after
much plea made by President Jonathan and the
National assembly
“Every country determines for itself the kind
of action it takes. In the case of Nigerians
and as you have just seen, we have
protested very vehemently the execution
and we are still looking at other options.
That (recalling Ambassador) may be along
the line, but we are looking at other
options. I have just appealed to the
government and people of Indonesia to
show some clemency as we move forward
with regards to the 12 other Nigerians still
on death row in that country. We hope at
the end of the day, there will be some form
of clemency for our people and we do not
hope, as of now, that it will have any
significant impact on our relationship.” he
said
Amb. Sheni said the Federal government is in
talks with the Indonesian government to agree
on a Prisoner Transfer Agreement so that those
on Death row would be sent back to Nigeria to
serve their prison time.

Went through instagram this morning and saw
quite a number of Nigerian couples sending
loving messages to each other for their followers
to read. What I wonder now is if these couples
look into each other's eyes and say it to
themselves when they are alone and no one else
can hear what they are saying? Abi, is it only on
social media we hear all 'dem cheesy love
quotes?' What do you guys think?
