PDP thugs reportedly held VP Sambo hostage in Kano today

Some thugs in the Kano state chapter of the
PDP today held Vice President Namadi Sambo
hostage for about 20 minutes at the Bayero
University Kano premises over allegations that
the state party leader had abandoned them.
According to Daily Independent , an eyewitness
said dozens of heavily armed thugs posing as
loyal party men beat the security cover around
the VP and became unruly, pouring out their
grievances at the state party leaders.
The witness said the thugs in unison chorused
on top of there voices “Bamuayi Bamuayi
Bamuayi” which meant “we are no longer with
you”, while others shouted mungaji da aiki
banza”, meaning ‘we are tired of the job’.
An embarrassed Vice President immediately
ordered the state party leaders to address the
aggrieved members. This paved way for the
thugs to drop their arms and follow the convoy
of the Vice President.

Police in Ekiti state parade woman for roasting hubby’s manhood

The Ekiti State Police Command today Monday
March 7th paraded a woman, Bukola Ogidiolu, for
allegedly pouring petrol on her husband, and
setting him ablaze. The fire destroyed his private
parts.
According to The Nation, while being paraded to
reporters, the 36 year old woman claimed that
she had a disagreement with her husband over
his alleged nonchalant attitude to her failure to
conceive since their marriage over three years
ago. She denied setting her husband on fire for
refusing to take her out on the Valentine’s Day
which happened to be her birthday.
Bukola said she didn’t know how the attack
happened.
The incident happened at the couple’s
residence in Idolofin area of Odo-Ado, Ado-
Ekiti.
Bukola said: “We had disagreement over his
nonchalant attitude to my barrenness that
day and we were fighting. Our neighbours
tried to plead with him but he never
listened to them. He later ran inside and
destroyed all my property. But he had
forgotten that we have petrol inside and
when he was about lighting his cigarette,
the keg that contains the petrol exploded
and my husband caught fire immediately”.
Abimbola who has burns all over his body
with his manhood badly burnt is presently
receiving treatment at Ekiti State University
Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti
where doctors are battling to save his life.
Police spokesman said the woman would be
charged to court as soon as possible.

APC to drag First Lady to International Criminal Court

APC says it has concluded plans to drag the first
Lady Patience Jonathan before the International
Criminal Court over her recent remarks at the
PDP Presidential campaign rally in Calabar,
Cross Rivers state where she called on people to
stone anyone who chanted Change around them.
The APC said Mrs Jonathan's comment was
calling on PDP supporters in the state to attack
members of the APC. The party likened Mrs
Jonathan to the former First Lady of Cote
d’Ivoire, Mrs Laurent Gbagbo who was indicted
by the ICC over matters bothering on election
crisis in 2010 during her husband's re-election
"Change, as the entire country knows by
now, is the slogan of the APC – the rallying
cry of a political party that wishes to bring
hope of greater and better things to come
for Nigeria and Nigerians. “By her
statement, Mrs. Jonathan was clearly
calling on the PDP supporters in Calabar to
attack supporters and campaigners of the
APC in the state. Mrs. Jonathan does not
occupy any formal office in the Nigerian
government as the position of the First
Lady is not recognised by the Nigerian
constitution. But Mrs. Gbagbo’s case
shows the ICC’s awareness of how
someone beyond formal governmental and
military hierarchies can be identified as
responsible for serious international crimes.
Patience Jonathan’s incontrovertible hate
speech not only contravened the laws of
the land, but also went completely against
the Abuja peace accord jointly signed by
the two presidential candidates,
Muhammadu Buhari and President
Goodluck Jonathan – a gesture which is
aimed at forestalling violence before, during
and after the 2015 elections. The PDP
supporters in the state, who may not know
better, could easily yield themselves to the
First Lady’s admonition and embark on a
process of wanton stoning and other
attacks against the APC members.”the
party said
The party says the letter to the ICC is signed by
the APC Presidential Campaign Director and
Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Ameachi and
would be forwarded to the ICC today March 9th.
It also said that the Inspector General of the
Police and the National Human Rights
Commission would also be sent copies of the
letter.

It is insulting for Mrs Jonathan to describe Buhari as brain dead - APC

The APC has described as insulting the recent
remarks by first lady Patience Jonathan that its
presidential candidate, General Buhari is brain
dead. At a PDP Presidential rally in Kogi state on
Wednesday March 3rd, the First Lady reportedly
described the former Military Leader as brain
dead
"Wetin him dey find again? Him dey drag
with him pikin mate. Old man wey no get
brain, him brain don die pata pata.” she
reportedly said in pidgin English
The APC in a statement released yesterday
March 4th, described her comments as
demeaning
"It is not only insulting for Mrs. Jonathan
to describe Buhari as “brain-dead, it is also
demeaning of her status as the President’s
wife to speak in the manner with which she
did. It was discourteous and inexcusable for
a wife of any President with a modicum of
decency to make such a false and infantile
pronouncement about the health status of
another man on account of politics.
The APC Presidential Campaign
Organization similarly observed that much
as indecent and disgraceful as the
outbursts of Mrs. Jonathan was in an
attempt to pull the wool over the eyes of
Nigerians about her husband’s
incompetence to lead the country, it is
typical of the PDP’s modus operandi to
confuse Nigerians with mundane issues
instead of the issues of corruption, for
which her husband has achieved an
unbeaten record; his appalling lack of
capacity to secure life and property of
citizens and a glaring incompetence in
dealing with the challenges facing the
country.” ”the statement read The
statement also said it has observed that
the first lady had in recent times continued
to make inciting comments during any of
the PDP women campaigns According to
APC, Mrs. Jonathan had made statements
“invoking violence like she did in Calabar
over the weekend, when she urged the PDP
supporters to stone all those canvassing for
change.”.
The statement called on President Jonathan to
caution his wife.

Karrueche had no idea Chris Brown was a dad until moments before TMZ broke it

Men can make women run mad sha. Almost
looks like Karrueche used her hands to pull out
her front hair after finding out her man of 5
years fathered a child while in a relationship with
her. According to TMZ, Karrueche found out
about the baby almost at the same time we all
out found out.
Karrueche Tran was in the dark ...
blindsided by Chris Brown's baby news just
moments before TMZ broke the story.
We're told Tran had absolutely no idea her
boyfriend was a daddy -- much less a
daddy with a baby mama with whom she
partied.
Our sources say Karrueche and Brown had
a blowout fight a week ago and weren't
speaking, but he tried calling her after the
story broke ... she did not pick up.
DNA tests performed in the last week show
conclusively ... Brown is the father of a 9-
month-old baby with a former model
named Nia . We're told he and Nia aren't
romantic but they get along fine, and Chris
has made some sort of financial
arrangement with her.
As for Karrueche ... we're told she's
actually relieved, because it now gives her a
clean, permanent out.

Mummy Cried: Nsukka Boy’s Presidential Scholarship Story from London University

I gained admission to study Computer Science at
the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2007 and by
God’s grace, graduated in 2011 with First Class
Honours. It was a challenging experience but
helped me become the man I am today.
Last year, I left Nigeria for the first time – to
begin my Masters of Science (MSc) program in
Information Security at the University College,
London (UCL). It wasn’t because my parents
had become overnight millionaires but because I
was one of two hundred and five (205) graduate
students to benefit from the PRESSID
(Presidential Scholarship Scheme for Innovation
and Development) awardees in 2014.
A senior lecturer at the university informed me
about it but I felt it was one of those 419 wayo-
wayo scholarship schemes that has become a
norm in Universities. Besides, I did not expect
the final selection process to be credible. In
previous regimes, such things are only awarded
to people who are related to a prominent person
in the government. Somehow I decided to try my
luck and apply but even when I was going for the
final test phase in Abuja, a part of me felt I was
wasting my time.
I’m here in London, but neither the cold nor the
fact that I am again the class representative as I
was throughout my undergraduate days has
made me fully believe that I am not in
dreamland.
Hardwork, determination and resilience helped
me graduate with first class honours from the
university. My classmates who fondly nicknamed
me ‘Modulus’ and other schoolmates I met form
part of my network of friends today, as do some
of my lecturers. There is no point in criticizing
the academic structure of most tertiary
institutions in Nigeria because the more we
complain and point fingers, the more time we
give for the system to decay. Personally, I have
decided to be part of the needed change and will
become a lecturer when I return.
It is imperative to note that this would not have
been possible without God and the Goodluck
Jonathan administration that initiated this
scheme in 2012. I cannot thank you enough, Mr.
President especially for lifting a burden from my
parents’ shoulders and for fulfilling the dream of
a nobody.
